Beautiful June wedding

We first met Laura and Andy early in the New Year to go through the plans for their wedding in Acton Bridge this June. We were delighted when they asked us to cater for their wedding and knew it would be an absolutely beautiful wedding and totally in keeping with the style we love. The ceremony was set to take place in the gorgeous garden of Laura’s parents’ house, overlooking the Cheshire Plains. OK, it may have drizzled a little but it certainly didn’t dampen the spirit of this day!

We served up canapés of mackerel and caper toasts/goats cheese mousse with beetroot and pea shoot pastries/Parma ham and roasted pepper with rocket bites/ham hock and mustard mousse potato cakes and smoked salmon with lemon crème freche sour dough bites all accompanied by the wonderful Gypsies of Bohemia band. After the canapés were devoured, it was a short walk down the country lane to the quaint village hall where a mini ale festival awaited and we continued to feed the masses.

The guests grazed on Spring chicken, leek and thyme stew with roast potatoes, slow cooked lamb tagine with cous cous and flat breads and roasted root veg and creamy goats cheese strudel with wilted Spring greens. We obviously then moved on to the puds! Laura and Andy opted for a dessert table which included carrot cake, sugared lemon loaf, Summer fruits pavolova, white chocolate and raspberry profiteroles, chocolate honeycomb cake, Bakewell tart and a delicious rosewater and pistachio cake. This was accompanied by a break from the booze with teas, herbals and coffee.

The dancing swept the guests into the evening and before we knew it, we were bringing out the evening goodies. We had put together a regional cheese board with lots of delicious breads, crackers, chutneys and homemade pickled onions, baskets of homemade Cornish pasties and sausage and black pudding rolls and a yummy charcuterie board. It was a truly wonderful wedding day, so personal to Laura and Andy and such a treat for their wedding guests!
